Hello my lovelies~!
NOTE: This is rather late being posted; this concert took place on the 10th of May.
This isn't a review, but more of an overview of my absolutely wonderful weekend in Sydney and attending B.A.P's Live On Earth Tour. I'm hoping to make this as detailed as possible for everyone reading and I will be adding photos of my concert freebies at the end!
Okay, so to start off, there were three ticket choices for the concert;
VIP Standing ($189), General Standing ($99) and Reserve Seating ($159).
I was unfortunately lacking the funds to afford a VIP ticket, but I did have a very nice view of the entire stage from my General Standing position (which to be honest, wasn't that far behind the VIPs anyway). I was about halfway between the stage and the back of the hall, which gave me a good view of the stage (including the floor) and there was not much pushing as there seemed to be in the VIP section.
Sometimes not being right at the front is a good thing.
Now, call myself and my friends crazy, but in order to get a good place in the line-up for the concert, we were awake at 4am, in the car and on our way to the venue by 5. To be fair, we do live about two hours away, so we wanted to get a good head start on the morning traffic.
Thanks to our early planning, we arrived at the Big Top in Luna Park, Sydney at around 6:30am and we were second in line to people who (were honestly more dedicated than us) had been there since 4:30am. By around 9am, the line was stretched to a fair 60-80 people and was continuously growing by the minute. By the time for pre-processing at 10am came around, there was well over 100 people lined up and the line stretched a fair length from the start.
Just to explain the pre-processing a little bit, as there was so many people and the staff wanted to begin the concert on time, we were asked to show our bought tickets in exchange for a wristband which we were to wear all day and it would make the entrance to the venue a lot smoother. Which to be honest, it did, as anyone who had a wristband was allowed straight into the venue and shown their allocated areas as soon as the doors opened.
During the day, I was with a group of around 5-8 people, making friends with the BABYs around us and we would often pair off to buy food (why is amusement park food always so expensive?) or to go for bathroom breaks. Security was a little strict with keeping everyone in lines and maintaining order for the patrons of Luna Park around us, but I will say that the fans were very well behaved during the day.
It wasn't until around 2-3pm when my friends and I that had booked a hotel room for the night, needed to go and check in. Thanks to the lovely people that were surrounding us in line, as we separated into two groups to drop our stuff off in the hotel, none of us lost our spot in line and security were rather compliant of the fact we needed to head off to the hotel up the road from the venue.
So at 6pm, we were finally allowed into the venue and people turned a little crazy. This is also when the security became a little slack. People (mainly girls, not so much the guys) were running towards the front VIP section, even if they were General Standing and a few of the management women I was chatting to before the concert were saying that there should have been security checking everyone's wristbands. It took security about 10 minutes to start checking wristbands after people had started entering the venue.
The actual concert started at 7pm, although at around 6:45 the sponsors of the concert decided to troll us with ads for their airline and still we cheered for B.A.P like crazy.
As 7pm came around, the concert started with a VCR of a news report, depicting the landing of strange UFOs and six aliens arriving on Earth.
(Find the full setlist here).
The concert itself was absolutely full of amazing dancing, live singing (no lip synching), fanservice and just positive vibes in general.
They started off with "One Shot" and I think my ear drums almost burst from the sudden deafening screams of the crowd.
(The following is not in chronological order - also apologies for crap quality, security was fairly strict on cameras and phones filming for some weird reason. None of the footage is mine.)
During the concert, B.A.P did quite a few heart stopping things, like Zelo's gwiyomi (see here), which was possibly the quickest qwiyomi I've ever seen performed in my life. There was also a moment during Jongup's solo when he pulled apart his shirt to reveal his
Also, before they started to perform "Coffee Shop", the boys did a skit where they gave drinks to random people in the crowd (see here) and I was actually screaming when I realised I knew the girl who Zelo gave the orange juice to. It was quite cute when Jongup started singing to the tune of Frozen about coffee, too.
There was quite a lot of sexual body dancing (e.g; butt dancing, hip thrusts, body rolls, etc), which had the crowd screaming and begging for more (I'm fairly sure some girls were crying because they just couldn't handle it).
They only spoke English to us, which was flipping awesome! We were expecting them to speak Korean and have a translator, but no. They spoke only English to us and Korean to each other.
They also did the classic Australia chant (here) and they also talked a bit about kangaroos (here) and fish & chips, like what? But it was cool.
I have to admit I think "Hurricane" was probably one of my most favourite songs to see live and I did really laugh when Himchan's part came along, because he kind of gave up and held the microphone out to the crowd for us to sing (here - this is from London, I couldn't find any from Sydney).
I think the funniest part of the entire show was when we were being taught the "Happiness" or "Check On" choreo (here - from LA, again none from Sydney). I was actually squished between my friends and the people behind me, so I couldn't lift my arms enough to follow along.
After they finished performing "1004 (Angel)", the boys had another little talk with us, before heading off to do their final song, which was "Warrior" (Himchan was so cute before it started!). But before that happened, they challenged themselves that they could change and be ready for their final song, in 100 seconds (see here).
During the concert, Himchan was walking across the stage and taking photos of the crowd. Yongguk was also thrown a Tigger plushie during Crash (here).
The goodbye and B.A.P walking off stage was really drawn out, almost like they didn't want to go and it was possibly the cutest thing ever. The concert finished at 9:30, meaning the whole thing was 2 1/2 hours long. One of my friends and I actually started crying when everyone was leaving because we couldn't believe it was over!
The exit out of the venue was fairly easy, regrouping with the people that I was sharing the hotel with a little harder, as some of us had been in VIP but others had been in General Standing. Once we were all together, we started to walk back to our hotel.
The hotel we stayed in was The Vibe Sydney, which was around $60pp and there was five of us in the room. We actually ordered room service for dinner and I only shared a fruit platter with one of my friends, because we weren't really hungry.
Finally relaxed in the hotel; fed, showered and ready for bed after an amazing night at the B.A.P Live On Earth Tour 2014. This was my first ever concert and I was not disappointed. After lining up for just over 12 hours, in the Australian sun (although it's Winter, the sun is still strong) and dealing with some less than pleasant incidents, the relief to get inside the concert was intense.
I fell asleep at around 11:30, which wasn't bad, since we had to be up early the next morning. I woke up with no voice (cringe) and it actually took a full week for my voice to come back properly.
Here are all the freebies I got during the day;
